Present tense for describing Ramadan/Eid customs (general truths): يصوم المسلمون في رمضان (Muslims fast in Ramadan). Past tense for personal experience: صُمتُ لأوَّل مرَّة عندما كنت في السابعة (I fasted for the first time when I was seven). Passive in cultural descriptions: يُزَيَّن الشارع بالفوانيس (the street is decorated with lanterns). يُتَبادَل (is exchanged — Form VI passive): تُتَبادَل التهاني والهدايا (congratulations and gifts are exchanged).

Optional follow-up

Write a description (60–70 words) of your favourite annual celebration (any culture or religion): what it is, when it is, what people do, and one personal memory of it. Use past tense for the memory, present tense for the customs. Include at least one passive structure.
