Text 1 (45 sec): A person asks for and receives directions to the train station — 8 multiple choice (3 options): which way to turn at the traffic lights, what landmark they pass, how far the station is, which platform they need, what time the next train leaves, how long the journey takes, transport type recommended for the return, opinion on the city's transport. 8 marks. Text 2 (40 sec): Two people discuss their town — matching (Person A / Person B / Both). 6 statements about places, transport and balanced opinions. 6 marks. Text 3 (50 sec): A city description — select TWO correct statements from five. 6 marks.

Part B — Reading and Writing (30 marks)
Reading (10 marks): 80-word descriptive article about an Arab city (partly vowelled). 6 questions: 1 R1, 2 R2, 2 R3 (including "Is the writer's attitude to the city positive or negative? Give evidence from the text"), 1 R4. Writing Q1 (5 marks): Transport registration form — fill in 5 fields in Arabic (town/city name, main transport type used, distance from school, one advantage and one disadvantage of local transport). Writing Q2 (15 marks): Email or article (80–100 words): "مَدينَتي وكَيف أَتَنَقَّل." TC (5), Range (5), Accuracy (5).

Part C — Speaking (10 marks)
Role play (4 marks): Asking for directions — 4 prompts: ask where the nearest metro/underground is (2 marks), ask how to get there (1 mark), ask how long it takes to walk (1 mark). Topic conversation (6 marks): 3 questions — "صِف مَدينَتَك. كَيف تَتَنَقَّل؟ ما مَزايا وعُيوب مَدينَتِك؟" Communication (3) + Quality of Language (3). Direction imperatives and يُوجَد/تُوجَد are specifically evaluated in QoL.
