How do YOU study? — a self-audit
You answer 5 questions anonymously: Do you make mind maps? Do you use spaced repetition? Do you test yourself? Do you study in silence? Do you explain topics to others? Results shown by Look at of hands. "These questions describe evidence-based study strategies. In Arabic, these strategies all have precise names that appear in educational texts. Today we build the vocabulary — and write a study guide using it."
Study skills vocabulary — Form II/IV academic verbs
Present study skills vocabulary. Highlight the Bloom's taxonomy pyramid — all six levels use Form II or related verbs: يَذكُر (Form I) → يَفهَم (Form I) → يُطَبِّق (Form II) → يُحلِّل (Form II) → يُقَيِّم (Form II) → يُبدِع (Form IV). Write 6 sentences using one verb from each Bloom's level applied to their study of Arabic: "أتذكَّر المفردات باستخدام البطاقات. أفهَم القواعد من خلال التطبيق. أُطبِّق القواعد في الكتابة. أُحلِّل النصوص في القراءة. أُقَيِّم كتاباتي بعد الانتهاء. أُبدِع نصوصاً جديدة في كل درس." Then: 3 conditional sentences on study-outcome: إذا راجَعتَ يومياً، ستتحسَّن ذاكرتُك.
Study guide — academic magazine style (100–110 words)
Write a study guide article for an Arabic academic magazine: P1 (hook — rhetorical question + statistic, retrieval from P1 Lesson 7): "هل تعلم أنَّ الطلاب الذين يستخدمون المراجعة المتباعدة يتفوَّقون على أقرانهم بنسبة أربعين بالمئة؟" P2 (strategies — Form II/IV study verbs): "تُوصي الأبحاث بأَن يُنظِّم الطالب وقته، يُلَخِّص المادة، ويُطبِّق ما تعلَّمه." P3 (conditional + reported speech): "وأكَّد علماء التربية أنَّه إذا استخدَم الطالب هرَم بلوم في دراسته، سيصل إلى مستويات التفكير العليا." P4 (conclusion — future + call to action): "سيتغيَّر نهجُك في التعلُّم. ابدأ اليوم!" Must include: rhetorical question, Form II/IV verbs (4), conditional (2), reported speech (2).
Effective vs ineffective study comparison
Write 3 comparison sentences contrasting effective and ineffective study using بينما/في حين أنَّ: "بينما يُؤَدِّي الحفظ عن ظهر قلب إلى نسيان سريع، يُؤَدِّي الفهم العميق إلى احتفاظ طويل الأمد. في حين أنَّ التشتيت يُضعِّف التركيز، فإنَّ بيئة الدراسة الهادئة تُعزِّز الإنتاجية." This contrast writing integrates P1 Lesson 6 environmental language (بيئة هادئة) with today's study vocabulary — deliberate cross-unit retrieval.
My top 3 Arabic study strategies
